Rasoee (RAH-SOH-EE) is the Hindi word for “kitchen”. Hindi is the most widely spoken language in Northern India, where the Rasoee story originally began.
Four active generations of the Sharma family have been in the Indian restaurant and Indian food business, originally out of India, and since the late 1980s, out of the Toronto area in Canada. In order to take Indian cuisine mainstream, Rasoee’s original recipes were modified just the right amount to accommodate the North American palate and lifestyle.
The healthy, flavourful, craveable, and home-style meals of Rasoee won a very loyal following amongst people from all walks of life. That prompted the family to consider expanding the concept to multiple units.
In 2002, the Rasoee expansion project began with the goal of creating a scaleable, quick-casual contemporary Indian restaurant chain that would serve gourmet cuisine within minutes at affordable prices --
Rasoee was VOTED BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT in 2006!
